 Photo Submitted/ Ryan Cole addresses a group hosted by Lafayette Healthy Lifestyle Initiative of University of Missouri Extension, regarding high tunnel vegetable production.  

 
In the first of a series of three workshops designed for local growers, a producer panel answered questions regarding their use of high tunnel structures.

Ryan Cole, Breezy Hill Farm, Jim Wood of WoodMood Gardens and Bret Fahrmeier of Fahrmeier Farms discussed their experiences using this production option. Tony Bittiker, District Conservationist with NRCS, presented information on the High Tunnel/EQIP cost-share program currently offered.

The next workshop in the series, sponsored by University of Missouri Extension in cooperation with the Missouri Department of Agriculture, will be held March 16 featuring information on Food Defense planning and GAP (Good Agricultural Practices).
