Lorene Leona Barker, 86, Odessa, died Friday, Feb. 12, 2010 at Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence.

She was born Nov. 5, 1923 in Napoleon, the daughter of John Wesley Murry and Minnie Mary (Walters) Murry.

She married David Allen Barker in Olatha, Kan. on May 11, 1946. He survives of the home.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Wesley, Aubrey and Virgil Murry and five sisters, Amanda Major, Ruth Barker, Luetta Kreul, Hazel and Leona Murry.

She worked for Twin Trophy Cafe on 40 Highway, the Shoe Factory and Garment Factory in Odessa. She graduated from Fairview School and is a member of the Greenton Baptist Church where she served on many committees.

Besides her husband David, she is survived by one son, Larry Dean Barker, Odessa; two daughters, Jane Reed and husband James, Wellington and Allie Jo Beissenherz and husband, Bruce, Wellington; one step-daughter, Muriel Lee and Don Hawkins, Grain Valley; one sister, Elva Lea Alumbaugh, Buckner; eight grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
